Alyssa joined Harris Divorce and Family Law in January of 2020. Alyssa earned her Juris Doctor and a Master’s degree in Education at Georgia State University.
In law school, Alyssa served as a student member of the Weltner Family Law Inn of Court and interned with the Honorable Jane C. Barwick of the Superior Court of Fulton County, Family Division. Alyssa was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Family Law in 2016.
Alyssa’s practice is largely focused on divorces, custody modifications, and prenuptial agreements. She believes that a successful attorney-client relationship begins with empathy and communication. While Alyssa has considerable litigation experience, both in bench trials and in jury trials, she believes the best path in family law is often an amicable settlement that will allow the parties to build a healthy co-parenting relationship going forward.
Alyssa has been awarded the Super Lawyers Rising Star award for the last three years and is, currently, a member of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, the Atlanta Lawyers Club, and the Cobb County Bar Association.
